In 2006, Ross Bischoff started handing out food on a small table at the Key Peninsula Lutheran Church. Ross passed away shortly after starting our food bank. Wally Haggard then stepped up to the plate and grew the food bank into what we have become today, 8 years later. In 2013, we had grown so large that we were no longer able to operate out of the Lutheran Church and had to find a larger facility. We have been at our current location since June 2013. We are open to our clients 5 days per week. We are the ONLY food bank on the Peninsula that allows clients to shop once per week.
We are in desperate need of your financial support to help offset operating expenses! The Bischoff Food Bank is and always has been a 100% volunteer based organization.
Our goal is $22,800 which must be obtained by March 21, 2018 in order to keep the food bank open and continue to feed 7,000 clients each month.
Please post directly on our Facebook page if you are able to contribute any financial support. No need to disclose the dollar amount unless you are comfortable doing so.
Any help and support you or your organization can offer us is greatly appreciated! We are open Tuesday through Friday: 2 pm – 6 pm / Saturday: 2 pm – 5 pm. Our phone number is 253-884-1997.
We are located at 12402 134th Ave Nw, Gig Harbor, WA. 98329.
Thank you and have a blessed day! 🙂
