Where
The Keizer Community Food Bank has been serving the hunger needs of the Keizer community since 1991. Originally organized as a mission project for John Knox Presbyterian Church, it has evolved into a community foodbank located at Faith Lutheran Church.
KCFB is currently a five church cooperative open Monday night 5:00-7:00 pm and Thursday morning, 9:00 – 11am. Participating churches are Faith Lutheran Church, John Knox Presbyterian, St Edward Catholic, Keizer Christian and Keizer Clearlake United Methodist. Each church is responsible for an opening and providing volunteers. Over 100 volunteers work through the program every month.
KCFB is basically an all-volunteer organization; though we currently pay some helpers to do some specific tasks that otherwise would not get done. Leadership and board members are all volunteers from the community and respective churches. If you would like to volunteer, please call (503-931-7612) and inquire what volunteer needs we currently have open.
KCFB is a distribution pantry of Marion-Polk Food Share. 80% of our food comes from MPFS, 10% through purchase and 5% local donations. We welcome donations of both food and money. Money is preferred because we can purchase food items that we need for the pantry at 35 cents on the dollar. More bang for the buck!
If you wish to have a local food drive at your facility/organization the following food items are preferred: peanut butter, tuna fish, canned fruit and vegetables, soups, rice, mac & cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal-hot & cold. Call us for a time to deliver or arrange pickup.
