The Brotes de Olivo Children’s Home was created on the initiative of a group of local residents, who in 1984, in coordination with professionals from the National Children’s Board, assumed the project as a social work of the community.

The Home opened its doors to children on May 8, 1988. It was established as a temporary placement resource for those minors who, due to situations of neglect, abandonment, mistreatment, orphanhood or risk, must be separated from their biological family.
