The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center provides food, referral information, and financial assistance to individuals and families in need within our service area. We are also seeing more people that are either living in their car or out in the desert. We are trying to help them with additional resources. In 1988, the Foothills Food Bank was founded by individuals from area churches because there was a large Hispanic population that was in need. Today the majority of the population we serve is non-Hispanic. In the beginning we would see, on average, 45 families a month. Today we see over 500 families per month and over 900,000 lbs of food is given annually to families.
