1 in 5 individuals in our community lacks enough food to live an active, healthy life. We are a centralized warehouse that stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and non-perishable food items. We distribute food to low-income people through member agencies that serve the ill, needy, and infants. We work to reduce food waste, feed hungry people, and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger. Founded in 1993, the Food Bank of East Alabama works to create a safety net of community partners, programs, and direct services to meet the needs of our neighbors who struggle with hunger across our seven-county service area.
