Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear (FPLCF) is a community response for families facing homelessness through various programs. Our Emergency Shelter Program (Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN) can host up to four families at one time. We “GIVE A HAND UP” to families in need. Area congregations volunteer to house and feed our families through out the year. We also have an interim and transitional housing program for our families. FPLCF provides services for families who have been victim to domestic violence.
Family Promise depends on our network of Wilmington area congregations to provide emergency shelter and meals for our families. We have twelve host congregations, where the families stay for a week at a time four times a year, and more than twenty support congregations who assist the hosts with meal preparation, van driving, and overnight duties.
