Our Mission:

The mission of Carrie Mae Hyatt Westside Community Food Pantry, Inc. is to offer healthy, nutritious food at no cost to Madison County residents in need, while always treating our clients with the highest level of dignity and respect.

What is the purpose of a food pantry?

Our FOOD PANTRY is an individual site that distributes bags or boxes of food directly to those in need who reside in a specified area. Our food pantry obtains food from, several food banks. Both food pantries and food banks share the same commitment: to provide food to those in need.

Pantries provide perishable and non-perishable foods including: dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, canned goods, dried goods, frozen meats and more.

Families in America are visiting food pantries for emergency food at least once a week Because food pantries, are nonprofit organizations, they rely on the generosity of others to help provide food for the needy. When most food banks are running low on supplies, they appeal to the public for donations.
