The Tyrone Area Food Bank, located ar 1200 Logan Avenue Wesley UMC Church, is open every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a,m. An evening session is also available on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
During this current pandemic, food bank clients are served from their cars or wait outside while their food items are gathered. Social distancing is observed.
The Food Bank, which currently serves over 120 local families, is here to help people who, for whatever reason, struggle to put quality food on their table. We are here for those who have been recently laid off from their job, and those with low income. State income guidelines are 150% of published poverty guidelines.
The food bank provides vouchers so that recipients can purchase some perishable items such as eggs and margarine at the Save-A-Lot grocery store.
The Tyrone Food Bank serves the Tyrone and Bellwood-Antis school districts. It is supported by both state and federal programs and by donations from local businesses, civic groups, churches and individuals.
